Located on the western, forest-covered slope of Grabowiec, the chapel was originally wooden and existed as early as the 13th century. The brick structure was built between 1718 and 1719 and was sponsored by Hans Anton Schaffgotsch.
The greatest asset of the place is the Good Spring, which flows just beneath the altar of the chapel and is channeled outside. History tells that the water was considered extraordinary, and as an old folk saying goes, anyone who fills their mouth with water and circles the chapel seven times without spilling a drop is guaranteed luck in love. Another legend tells of a prince who was tracking an injured deer. He found it bathing in the spring, and during this bath, its wounds healed instantly. Next to the chapel once stood an inn that served pilgrims. It is said that the miraculous power of the water was appreciated by witches gathering for their sabbats.
