The name of the cauldrons does not come from nowhere - snow is an almost indispensable sight here and can remain even in summer. Due to the harsh conditions within the cauldrons, they were protected and a strict reserve was established here. It protects the alpine landscape of the cauldrons and the specific vegetation which thrives here.
This is the home of the snowflake, for example, which can no longer be found anywhere else in central Europe! Likewise with a rare fern species, the Alpine scatterbra, which, apart from the Snowy Cauldrons, can still be found in Poland in the Tatras. In addition, near the bottom of the cauldrons, you can visit the picturesque Snowy Ponds - small shallow lakes filled with crystal-clear water.
It is possible to get to the Snowy Cauldrons along the Main Sudetic Trail (red) or along the yellow trail from Szklarska Poręba via the Pod Łabskim Szczytem Hostel. If the hardship of the more than three-hour hike is too much - it is worth choosing the green trail and walking from the hostel towards Rozdroża pod Wielkim Szyszakiem, and admiring the majesty of the Śnieżne Kotły from their foot.
